Below is a list of our current student organizations! To join an organzation or to find out when meetings are held, feel free to email the current president or look on ORGSYNC, also known as NorseUp, on the Northern Kentucky University website.

Alpha
Founded: Tuesday December 4, 1906
Incorporated: Saturday May 28, 1988
Motto: First of all, servants of all, we shall transcend all.
Colors: Black and Old Gold
Purpose: develops leaders, promotes brotherhood and academic excellence, while providing service and advocacy for our communities.
Kappa

Founded: Thursday January 5, 1911
Motto: "Training for Leadership since 1911"
Symbol: The Kappa Diamond
Colors: Crimson and Cream
Purpose: The purpose of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. is to unite college men of culture, patriotism, and honor in a bond of fraternity. Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. is dedicated to uplifting its members and the community through the fraternity's fundamental purpose of achievement.

 

zeta
Founded: Jaunary 16,1920
Motto:“A community conscious, action-oriented organization"
Symbol: White Dove
Colors: Royal Blue & Pure White
Purpose: The purpose of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority is to
foster the ideas of sisterhood, service, charity, civil and cultural
endeavors,  scholarship and finer womanhood. These ideals are reflected in the sorority's national program for which its members and auxiliary groups provide voluntary service to staff, community outreach programs, fund scholarships, support organized charities, and promote legislation for
social and civic change."


SGRho

Founded: November 12, 1922
Motto: "Greater Service, Greater Progress”
Symbol: Poodle
Colors: Royal Blue and Antique Gold
Purpose: Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority's aim is to enhance the quality of life within the community. Public service, leadership development and education of youth are the hallmark of the organization's programs and activities. Sigma Gamma Rho addresses concerns that impact society educationally, civically, and economically.



ASU

Purpose: The ASU seeks to raise the awareness of the continental Africa and promote greater cultural and international knowledge and events for the NKU Campus and community.

 

AV

Purpose:
The purpose of the Anointed Voices Gospel Choir shall be to serve as a praise and worship and praise ministry to the campus and surrounding community of Northern Kentucky in the form of gospel music, to the Most High God. This organization brings together students who are interested in promoting spiritual unity among the students of Northern Kentucky University. It encourages each one to strive for excellence in all endeavors, and consciousness of issues that involve every denomination of Christianity to all students who attend, have attended, or employed by Northern Kentucky University spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

 

BMO

Purpose:
The purpose of this organization shall be: To provide a brotherhood, whose character exemplifies high standards, to serve as a governing body for African/African American males at Northern Kentucky University; Establishes ~ and providing university and community service, having high scholastic conduct and facilitating social and recreational activities among its members

 

BSU
Purpose:
The purpose of BSU shall be to serve as a unifying organization for all the African American organizations that are recognized by Northern Kentucky University. We will bring together students who are interested in promoting consciousness of issues that African American students attending NKU, cultivate cultural awareness and social enhancement by utilizing collaborated skills and talents of African American student organizations. We are dedicated to developing and strengthening leadership skills of students, and provide service to the NKU African American community. We will take a proactive stance in being the voice for the African American student of NKU.


BWO
Purpose:
The purpose of Black Women's Organization shall be to serve as a governing body for Black (and minority) women that are recognized by Northern Kentucky University.  This organization brings together students who are interested in promoting the conscious issues that minority students (especially women) who attend Northern Kentucky University are subject to and encounter, cultivate development and social enhancement by utilizing collaborated skills and talents, strengthen leadership abilities of students, and provide service to the Northern Kentucky as well as the surrounding community.

ENVI

Purpose:
ENVI is your favorite campus Hip Hop Dance Team. We serve as a group for those with a love for the art and expression of dance, as well as provide an environment where people can collaboratively choreograph and perform different variations of the style of modern hip-hop dance

NAACP
Purpose:
Historically the NAACP had been a vessel for change, serving as a non-profit organization working to improve the political, educational, social and economic status of minority groups; to eliminate racial prejudice; to keep public aware of the adverse affects of racial discrimination; and to take all lawful action to secure the elimination of discrimination. In addition our objectives are to inform students of problems affecting minorities groups. The NKU Chapter of the NAACP is committed not only to our purpose listed above but also to engage in a " New Age Activism for a Common Purpose" as we promote a new generation of leadership within the organization and advocate for social and political injustices.

Purpose:
Nu Upsilon acknowledges African American women for their contributions in our Northern Kentucky University community and beyond. Women who empower and achieve excellence with confidence, meaning and purpose.

R.O.C.K.S uses its core fundamentals to promote the benefits of being responsible, seizing every opportunity, giving back to the community, embracing knowledge, and building and maintaining success, while developing African American freshmen as leaders on Northern Kentucky University’s campus.
